October 29, 2005 - Regional Meet
The Delaware Hayes Cross Country Teams competed at the OHSAA Regional Cross Country Meet at Pickerington North High School on Saturday. Jake Edwards was the Division I Regional Champion in a time of 16:08. The Pacer Boys placed 10th out of 16 teams with 235 points. Hilliard Darby was first (92 points), Hilliard Davidson second (138 points),  Worthington Kilbourne third (150 points) and Thomas Worthington fourth (152 points). The top four teams qualify for the State Championship on Saturday at Scioto Downs. Other Pacers were Brandon Shaw 23rd in 17:08, Kurt Kostyu 70th in 17:48, Ben Andrews 72nd in 17:51, Jason Randolph 90th in 18:07, David Oliver 102nd in 18:30, and Phil Putman 117th in 19:18.  The Pacer Girls placed 7th out of 16 teams with 201 points. Hilliard Darby was first (86 points), Dublin Coffman second (101 points), Pickerington North third (113 points), and Hilliard Davidson fourth  (141 points). All four teams qualified for the State Meet. Regional Meet Champion was Erika Alpeter of Hilliard Darby with a time of 18:43. Delaware was lead by State qualifier Bridget Connolly who was 9th in  19:34, and Lauren Wright who also qualified for State by placing 11th in a time of 19:44. Sam Catania was 27th in 20:14, Kailee Stockdale 81st in 21:36, Alli Reed 85th in 21:41, Annie Arnett 112th in 23:50 and Vanessa Eufracio 114th in 23:57.

October 22, 2005 - District Meet
The Delaware Hayes Cross Country teams competed at the Central District Championships yesterday at Watkins Memorial High School. The Boys and Girls both placed fourth advancing to the Regional Meet next Saturday at Pickerington North High School. Jake Edwards was meet Champion running the fastest time of the day for all divisions on the very muddy Watkins course. Jake placed first in 16:42. Kurt Kostyu was 15th in  18:03, Brandon Shaw 18th in 18:06, David Oliver 48th in 18:53, Ben  Andrews 62nd in 19:11, Jason Randolph 80th in 20:01, and Raymond  Chittock 91st in 21:08. Hilliard Darby took the team trophy with 46 points, Thomas Worthington was 2nd with 95 points, Westerville North 3rd with 121 and Delaware 4th with 142 points.  The Hayes Girls were lead by Lauren Wright who was 2nd overall in 20:14, Bridget Connolly 10th in 20:56, Sam Catania 19th in 21:15, Alli Reed 44th in 22:48, Kailee Stockdale 54th in 23:19, Annie Arnett 78th in 24:52, and Vanessa Eufracio 81st in 25:11. Erika Alpeter of Hilliard Darby was meet champion with a time of 19:52. Hilliard Darby also took the Girls Team title with 71 points, followed by Hilliard Davidson 85 points, Dublin Scioto 111 points, and Delaware with 129.  Go to complete Tournament results.

October 15, 2005 - OCC Central Championship
BOYS: Worthington Kilbourne 37, Mount Vernon 69, Delaware 71, Central Crossing 77, Marysville 93, Westerville South 138. Individuals: Glibert 4th at 16:41.  Jake Edwards was the meet champion in a time of 16:20. Other Delaware boys were Kurt Kostyu 10th in 17:27, Brandon Shaw 16th in 17:41, Jason Randolph 21 in 17:53, and Ben Andrews 23rd in 17:58. Also in the Varsity race for Delaware was David Oliver, 34th in 19:06, and Seth Frentsos 37th in 19:21. Boys open race runners were Raymond Chittock 13th in 19:08, Phil Putman 19th in 19:17, Joey Haught 30th in 20:03, Stewart Carpenter 46th in 21:06, and John Boodoo 58th in 21:43. The Boys placed 4th in the open division. 

GIRLS: Worthington Kilbourne 42, Central Crossing 50, Delaware 65, Mount Vernon 88, Westerville South 136, Marysville 141.  Claire Durkin of Worthington Kilbourne was meet champion in a time of 19:12. Bridget Connolly placed 2nd in 19:33 for Delaware, Lauren Wright was 3rd in 19:49, Sam Catania 14th in 21:16, Alli Reed 21st in 22:21, Kailee Stockdale 25th in 22:46, Vanessa Eufracio 34th in 24:17 and Annie Arnett 35th in 24:19. Tammy Rubin ran in the open division for  Delaware placing 20th in a time of 30:18.

October 1, 2005 - Erin L. Nance Fall Distance Classic
The Boys Team placed 4th in Division 1 out of 12 teams with 113 points. Worthington Kilbourne was 1st with 67 points. Jake Edwards was meet champion placing first in 16:16. Kurt Kostyu was 10th in 17:24, Brandon Shaw 15th in 17:34, Ben Andrews 34th in 18:20, David Oliver 53rd in 18:58,  Raymond Chittock 58th in 19:17, and Phil Putman 62nd in 19:44. Open  runners for Delaware were Seth Frentsos 19:10, Joey Haught 20:45, Stewart Carpenter 21:01, John Shrum 21:17.  The Girls Team also placed 4th out of 11 teams with 102 points.  Hilliard Darby was first with 54 points. Meet champion was Erika Alpeter of Hilliard Darby in 19:05. Delaware runners were Bridget Connolly 3rd overall in 19:24, Lauren Wright 10th in 20:33, Sam Catania 16th in 21:03, Alli Reed 31st in 21:52, Kaille Stockdale 42nd in 22:45, and Vanessa Eufracio 61st in 24:54. Open runners for Delaware were  Annie Arnett 25:53 and Tammy Rubin 32:04.

BOYS: The Boys placed 9th out of 18 teams.  The Pacers were led by Jake Edwards 2nd 16:24, Brandon Shaw 39th 18:04, Kurt Kostyu 41st 18:05, Jason Randolph 56th 18:22, Ben Andrews 78th 19:11, David Oliver 89th 19:25 and Raymond Chittock 94th 19:30.

GIRLS: The Girls team was 12 out of 16 teams.  Girls top finishers were Lauren Wright 21st 20:54, Sam Catania 43rd 21:52, Alli Reed 61st 22:29, Kailee Stockdale 72nd 23:00, and Vanessa Eufracio 87th in 24:54.

August 27, 2005 - Whitehall Ram Invitational
BOYS: Delaware 39, Central Crossing 54, Bexley 84, Whitehall 87, Franklin Heights 98, Walnut Ridge 154.  The Boys were dominant in taking first place. Jake Edwards was the meet champion and ran a personal record of16:26. Kurt Kostyu (3rd 17:08), Brandon Shaw (9th 17:38), Jason Randolph (11th 17:43) and Ben Andrews (5th 18:20) all placed for the Pacers. Freshmen Raymond Chittock (24th 1845) and David Oliver (26th 18:56) finished out the top 7.

GIRLS: Central Crossing 26, CSG 49, Delaware 71, Bexley 86, Whitehall 140.  The Girls ran well and placed third.  The Pacer girls were led by Lauren Wright (3rd 20:45), Allison Reed (12th 22:25), Kailee Stockdale (15th 22:55), Vanessa Eufracio (22nd 23:57) and Tammy Rubin (43rd 33:09).

"This was the last meet prior to our OCC meet. We feel like we are heading into that meet running pretty well. Many of our runners ran personal record times at Marion, and those that didn't were just off their best times ever. The idea is to be running your best when the post-season arrives, both the Boys and Girls team turned in the best team average times in 3 yrs since I've been coaching. We are running our best, and we think we can even run better next saturday. I'm not sure how we'll finish next week, but I know we're excited about our opportunities. The OCC meet is one of the reasons we put in all of those miles during the off season." - Scott Davis
