Delaware 46 Marion-Franklin 50
Potter 2 points. Caudill 6 points. Bingaya 18 points. Coleman 14 points. Bosiokovic 6 points. The Delaware Hayes Pacers may have played their finest game of the season tonight. However, it proved to not be enough as they fell to eighth-seeded Marion Franklin by a score of 50-46. The Pacers matched their opponent's physicality and played quite well all night long against a much bigger and more athletic Marion-Franklin team. They out-rebounded the Red Devils 28-26 and shot 57% from the floor (19-33). However, the Pacers failed to capitalize on two one and one opportunities in the final 36.4 seconds of the game. The Pacers went to the foul line down 2 points with 10.9 seconds left and missed the front end of a one and one. After a Marion Franklin rebound and a Delaware foul, the Pacers got the ball back with 8.2 seconds left down 2 points. The Pacers hopes of an upset were crushed however as Marion-Franklin's Jeremi McCoy made a key steal, was fouled and converted both free throws with 6.8 seconds left to account for the final margin of 50-46. The standouts tonight for the Pacers were Matty Bingaya and Braxton Coleman. For the game, Bingaya had 18 points on 7-9 shooting, 7 assists and 5 rebounds. Coleman chipped in 14 points on 7-9 shooting, and added 10 rebounds. Coleman also helped hold Marion Franklin's 6'9'' center Elijah Macon to 11 points and 4 rebounds. Macon has verbally committed to West Virginia. The Pacers finished the year at 12-10. The Pacers are expected to have 7 returning letterwinners back next season with the only player departing being Senior Captain Nick Caudill.

Delaware 50 Olentangy Orange 54
Potter 12 points. Caudill 6 points. Bingaya 19 points. Coleman 9 points. Bosiokovic 4 points. The Delaware Hayes Pacers lost to the Orange Pioneers tonight by a score of 54-50. The Pacers made a valiant comeback in the second half but couldn't get over the hump. Part of the reason was a cold night at the charity stripe. For the night the Pacers were 5 of 21 at the free throw line and Orange was 15 of 21. The Pacers were shooting around 70 percent from the free throw line over the past 6 games as a team, coming into the game. Coach Blackburn cited the free throw struggles as a main reason for the defeat. "You cannot beat a good team like Orange shooting that poorly from the line. Those misses become wasted possessions and its inexcusable." The Pacers shot nearly 50 percent from the field once again and only committed three turnovers in the 2nd half but the missed free throws were the story. With the win and a New Albany victory over Mt. Vernon, Orange earned a share of the OCC Capital Division Crown. Both teams finished with a record of 12-2. Next up for the Pacers is St. Charles on February 24th. Tip-off time is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.

18 footer by Sam Krebs and a step back three pointer by Smotrich.
On the next Eagle possession sophomore guard Matthew Bingaya converted
a steal into a two handed jam that got the home Pacer crowd on its
feet and gave the Pacers a 43-42 lead. Ryan Mayle was then fouled
on a drive to the basket and made the first of two free throws to
tie the score at 43. His second shot missed and caromed of of the

Krebs fouled on a drive to the basket and he gave the lead back

guard Zach Parsons. Parsons was fouled on the play and converted

Pacer junior center Braxton Coleman. The ball landed in the hands
of Pacer sophomore forward Yogi Bosiokovic and he converted the
lay-in to give the Pacers a lead they would not relinquish at 49-47.
The Eagles missed a short runner in the lane and on the rebound
a jump ball was called. The ball was awarded to the Pacers. On the
in bounds Zack Parsons was fouled and went to the line shooting
a one and one. He made the first and missed the second, giving the
Pacers a 50-47 lead with seven seconds remaining. The Pacers then
fouled the Eagles Sam Krebs sending him to the line with 2.2 seconds
left. He made the first and intentionally missed the second. The
ball was rebounded by Braxton Coleman who was fouled with less than
a second to go. Coleman nailed both free throws to account for the

foul line eleven times, compared to the Pacers two trips in the
four minute overtime period. Having to go the length of the court,

The Delaware Hayes Pacers lost in double overtime to New Albany
last night. The Pacers put up a valiant effort despite battling
foul trouble throughout. Sophomores Zack Parsons and Jacob Bosiokovic
really stepped up according to Coach Blackburn. “Down the stretch
of our close games this year most of our scoring has come from Caudill
and Bingaya. Tonight we had Pars and Yogi really step it up and
make some crucial plays at crucial times.” The Pacers played both
overtimes without Bingaya, who leads the team in points, rebounds
and assists. They were down by 5 at one point in the first overtime
and battled back to tie it up. In the second OT the score was tied
at 67 with less than a minute to go when Eagles forward Nick Sosh
was fouled on a drive to the basket. He made both free throws and
the Pacers came down and missed and were forced to foul in the final
seconds. Coach Blackburn credited New Albany for “hitting several
tough shots that were closely contested” down the stretch. (The
Eagles hit a three point field goal to tie the score in the final
seconds of regulation and in the first overtime, with both shots
coming from well behind the three point line). Overall, Coach Blackburn
felt, “it was the best we have played as a unit down the stretch
of any game this season as several people stepped up and hit big

much better helpside defense tonight than they did last night, or
all season for that matter, and that was the key to the game."

lead at halftime. However, in the second half the Pacers showed
their youth, turning the ball over 12 times and going 2 for 9 at
the free throw line as the Tigers crept back into the game. The
intensity level was outstanding as both teams left it all on the

basket with a chance to win. A closely contested 5 footer by sophomore
forward Jacob Bosiokovic rimmed out as the buzzer sounded. Coach
Blackburn credited the defense for both teams and said he was extremely
proud of how hard the Pacers played all night. "Our defense
kept us in the game tonight and that is exactly what good teams
do... when you have an off night shooting or you're not taking as
good of care of the ball as you should, you find a way to stay in
the game and compete. We are young and we are certainly improving."
Sophomore guards Zack Parsons and Matty Bingaya led the way for
the Pacers tonight as Parsons scored 12 points (all coming on 3's)
and Bingaya contributed 9 rebounds and 9 assists.
